Christmas in September

In the bottom of Max's closet we have stored some Christmas decorations. The other day Max got a look at them and could not stop staring.

The picture doesn't show the sparkles or color very well. The wreath is really pretty.

I leaned down with Max in my arms and let him get a closer look. As he was staring with fascination. I whispered in his ear, "That's Christmas buddy."

I Can't wait for Max to experience Christmas! The lights, The warmth, the feeling, the meaning.

I love Christmas!

Cigarettes vs. Alcohol

I'm curious. Why is it that cigarettes get targeted for bad, And alcohol campaigned for good? Don't get me wrong. I cannot stand cigarette smoke! I think it's disgusting.
My question is this, Do cigarettes make you abuse your spouse or children? Do cigarettes make you drive drunk and kill other people? Do cigarettes impair your judgement and make you wake up the next morning and wonder what you did last night? Or who?
How much violence happens because of alcohol? How much violence happens because of cigarettes? Do you see my point?
Don't get me wrong. I'm happy that you can't smoke anymore in public places. Very happy! Whenever I get the faintest whiff of cigarette smoke I want to gag.
I just think alcohol can be so much worse. Can you imagine a commercial for cigarettes being like the famous commercials for alcohol? Why does one seem to be more accepted?
For example, You can't smoke on an airplane (thank goodness) But you can drink and become completely obnoxious, Annoying everyone around you.
Some people seem to not be able to handle their alcohol very well. So they not only hurt themselves, They hurt others and make complete fools of themselves. Cigarettes don't turn you into a complete idiot.

TicKLe MoNsTeR

When Shaun and I were in Flagstaff. We came across this cute little find. The book, TicKLe MoNsTeR, by Josie Bissett.

The best part as you can see. Is that you can get these tickle monster mitts to go with it. Too cute! I can already hear the squeals of delight when Max sees us with our tickle monster mitts on. It's tickle time!

This book is adorable! Here is a little sneak peek. The author has this on her website.

I come from Planet Tickle, you see,

I'm a monster, but not the kind you must flee.

I'm the happiest, silliest, zaniest kind. My talent is Tickling,

I think you'll soon find.

SERIOUSLY?! They GROW so FAST!!

The hand that rocks the cradle or the paw?

The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. I do agree with this, Although, It does seem to be that dogs are starting to rule a little bit.

A while back I went to the Chick-fil-A drive thru. I had just taken the dogs to the dog park (they even get their own parks) and needed to stop and get some lunch.

When I drove up to the window to get what I ordered. The girl at the window noticed the dogs in the back. They have dog treats at the window to give to those people who have dogs in the car!!

So Boston and Baxter got a treat for free. Lucky dogs!

What is poking me in my pants?!!

The other day as I'm walking out of work to my car I feel a poke. Something was poking me right below my left bum cheek!
Because other people were walking behind me. I very discreetly try and swat at the area being assaulted below my bum cheek.
The poke persist and I start to freak out a little. What is poking me inside my pants?!! My mind starts to race. What horrible little creature has made it's way into my pants and is now wreaking havoc below my bum.
I hurry to my car and see the security guard in the parking lot. I wave hello as calmly as I can while being poked by an unseen assailant in my pants. I wonder if I should yell to him that I'm being poked by something in my pants. I decided with a little chuckle to myself, That was probably beyond his area of protecting.
I get to my car and very roughly sit down and rub my butt side to side pressing down hard into the seat. I was going to have my revenge on whatever gross little bug had made it's way into my pants.
I feel the outside of my pants where the poking is happening and I do feel something! UGH!!
I try to squash it as best I can. Then I carefully reach down my pants below my left bum cheek. What do I find causing me such stress? A fingernail!! I don't know how my fingernail (at least, I hope it was my fingernail) got into my pants. Whew!! Could have been worst, Like a gross pinching bug. You've got to watch out for those loose fingernails.

Our trip to the Grand Canyon

It was so nice to get away! The Grand Canyon is so beautiful! We had a great time together and really enjoyed the cooler weather of Flagstaff. It felt so good!
Drew and Katee decided to come and join us at the last second. It was great having them along with us. It was nice for Max to have some company in the back seat. Otherwise, It could have been torture for him to be stuck in his car seat without some entertainment.
I took so many pictures! How can you not with such an amazing view! The only bad thing is Max is too little to remember it. We'll have to go again when he's older and we can do some real hiking.
Flagstaff was really nice. We walked around town and enjoyed the beauty of the trees and cool air. aaaahhhh! So nice. I think we'll have to make at least one get away a summer to the cooler parts of Arizona. It feels so good to get away from the heat.

September 4th......What a great day!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAUN!!

Shaun is 32 today! I left him a birthday card on his steering wheel last night. I hope he liked it! It's nice to get a birthday surprise at 5:00am in the morning.
We're celebrating Shaun's birthday and the long weekend by going to the Grand Canyon! I'm so excited! Our first family vacation:) Shaun has never seen the Grand Canyon.
I got a $300 dollar gift card to Marriott hotel from my work. So we're going to stay in Flagstaff, AZ and drive to the Grand Canyon. They don't have a Marriott at the Grand Canyon.
I heard Flagstaff was a fun place too. We're so excited to get away and have some fun!
We're leaving on Saturday and coming home on Monday. I will be taking lots of pictures! I hope we can find some fun trails that we can take Max on. Nothing to strenuous. We'll have Max in a strap on pouch. He's a big boy to carry around!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAUN!! I LOVE YOU!!
I wouldn't want to grow older with anyone but you!!

Now if I can only get you to change the toilet paper roll. We'll be good.

My buddy, My buddy

Wherever I go....He's gonna go

This is a picture of Max in his car seat looking back at me in the drivers seat. It makes it hard to keep my eyes on the road when I've this view behind me.
I love when he looks up at me like this from his car seat. Sometimes he falls asleep in this position. Looking up at mom.
I love having a little buddy! It's so fun to cruise around town and run errands with my best bud.
Sometimes I hope for a red light so I can look back at him and talk to him.

Thanks Max for being my best little bud.
